COMPANY HISTORY

Since 1918, Dunlap Hatchery has been producing quality poultry for our customers throughout the United States and abroad. Our business over the years has expanded to include not only baby chicks, but ducks, geese, turkeys, and game birds. Dunlap’s also provides poultry equipment, hatching eggs, and the knowledge one needs to grow their hatchlings.

Our farm is ever expanding to meet the growing need for poultry. 2009 brought us a new hatchery facility giving us a capacity of over 400,000 eggs. With over 1 million chicks hatched in 2009, it was a much needed addition. Our company has installed a new poultry feed mill that enables us to use all natural ingredients to feed our poultry. Providing our breeders with quality grains helps to produce higher quality chicks. This year we are introducing to you a new breed of poultry and an old farm breed. The new Brit Red is a hybrid cross that produces nice looking chicks with hens being excellent egg producers. From the past, we are re-introducing the New Hampshire Red after a 20 year absence from our farm. A calm, bird, the New Hampshire would be a nice bird for your farm.

Future plans for our company include new breeder facilities along with more varieties of birds. Should you have a breed idea for us, let us know! We have also added more equipment to our ever expanding catalog.

With over 92 years of business, we are the second oldest hatchery in the United States. Our business is family run.
