EXOTICS
Currently, Dunlap's offers both the Golden and Silver Laced Wyandottes, Light Brahma, Araucana, Columbian Rock, White Crested Black and Blue Polish, Golden Campine and the Standard Turken in our exotic standard category.
The Wyandotte's were developed in the United States and are very popular among back yard farms. They are a heavy breed that lay medium sized brown eggs, and are also a beautiful show bird.
Light Brahmas are a very large, feather legged bird that lay brown eggs. We carry them in bantam size as well as standard.
The Columbian Rock is a large bird of black and white plumage that will make an excellent show bird. They lay brown eggs and are very rare.
The Polish are a crested bird and are very quiet. They are a smaller non-setting breed that produce white eggs. Their cottonball top make them a very interesting conversation piece from day old chick to adult size.
Araucanas, or the Easter Egg Chicken as they are commonly referred to, lay eggs in many shades of blue, green and pink. with the array of color these birds bring, in their feathering as well as their eggs, they make a favorite to add to any flock.
The Golden Campine is a smaller bird with gold and black barred feathering. Similar to a Barred Rock. The Campine lays white eggs.
The Turken, AKA Naked Neck, is a heavy bird that despite its lack of feathers is very cold hardy. The roosters can grow to 6 Lbs. making them a godd meat bird. The hens lay brown eggs and are good setters.
